New Comic Day Pull List: 5/16/12

My Top Picks:
Locke & Key: Clockworks #6 (of 6)
Locke And Key Clockworks #6 (Of 6) (IDW)- “On a sweltering spring night, in the last days before graduation, the Keepers of the Keys face Dodge a final time, under three hundred feet of stone, in the darkness before the Black Door. Here, water will mix with blood, and the Drowning Cave will become a colossal tomb, in the final issue of the CLOCKWORKS storyline.”
–  This series has been so fucking good. I am quickly becoming a HUGE Joe Hill fan, like I am a HUGE fan of his father (look it up).
Locke & Key is a modern classic of a ghost story, and has that “Joe Hill’s Father” feeling to it, while all the time feeling like so much more…I can’t wait.

Saga #3
Saga #3 (Image)- “BKV’s and FIONA STAPLES’ controversial epic continues! Stranded on a mystical alien world, new parents Marko and Alana encounter their greatest fear.”
–   Saga is (obviously) only two published issues in. Those two issues were banonkers. There is so much going on in this world, it reminds me of when you first realized that “Star Wars” had more story potential than just the three movies. Its a bit Neverending Story, a bit Narnia and a bit Bret Easton Ellis…Confused?…Just pick it up.
Avengers vs. X-Men: Round 4

Avengers Vs X-Men #4 (Of 12) (Marvel)- “The battle of hero vs. hero rages on! With Wolverine abandoned by the Avengers, where will he stand in the battle for Hope?”
–      THIS is the Marvel I grew up on…I mean, Jesus, look at that cover! This storyline is exactly what they set out to be. I heard Brian Michale Bendis on a podcast recently, saying “if you say ‘Avengers vs. X-Men’, they better be fighting by the third page.” THAT’S what this series has been. A fight from the very beginning. Granted, not ONLY fighting, but it does what it sets out to do. Plus there is the totally awesome AvX: VS series that is NOTHING but the individual matches, if that is more your speed.

The Rest:
